I've just started using Adobe Audition to edit my podcast, and I'm having a little trouble adjusting the volume for each track (I used to use Audacity). We all recorded using different mics to a Zoom recorder, and some tracks are lower than others. I tried using match loudness and it boosted two of the tracks but not the first one. by providing support for opening and saving additional file formats.
To use any of these filters, simply download and extract the files
to the main Cool Edit or Adobe Audition program folder.

free lossless audio codec

Adobe Audition is a Digital Audio Editor released by Adobe Systems. Formerly known as CoolEdit Pro, the editor was purchased in May, 2003. It is a powerful tool for creating audio for any destination, from CD and DVD, to broadcast television and digital media. ADOBE AUDITION has an optional filter designed to allow it to load and save FLAC files, while CUBASE has built-in support. GARAGEBAND, PRO TOOLS and other tools that don't directly support FLAC files, need the files converted back into a WAV file via another tool, such as iTunes, the FLAC converter, audio converter or x-lossless-decoder.

FLAC is a lossless format, meaning that audio is compressed without
any loss of information. This leads to higher quality files compared to
lossy formats such as MP3, albeit at the expense of much larger file sizes.
This filter provides support for opening and saving FLAC files.

ogg vorbis

Ogg Vorbis is an open source alternative to the MP3 format,
achieving arguably higher quality at comparable bitrates.
This filter provides support for opening and saving Ogg Vorbis files.
Please note that Adobe Audition 2.0 already features support for Ogg Vorbis,
so this filter is intended for use with earlier versions only.

Windows Media Audio is one of the main rivals to the MP3 format,
with support for various encoding modes, including lossless encoding.
This filter provides support for opening and saving WMA files.
Adobe Audition already features support for Windows Media Audio,
so this filter is intended for use with Cool Edit only.

Adobe Audition is a digital audio workstation designed for professional audio editing. Audition for the Creative Cloud is the first 64-bit version of the application. It was originally released by Syntrillium as Cool Edit, but was later purchased by Adobe and renamed to Audition.

You can use Audition to record separate audio tracks and combine them into a full musical composition. The program features non-destructive multitrack editing but also has a waveform editing view for destructive editing. The separate audio tracks can also be tweaked using tools like pitch correction and pitch bending.

Besides music composition, Audition is also commonly used for editing audio for video productions. Its integration with Premiere Pro allows you to quickly remove unwanted background noise with the Sound Removal tool and then jump right back into Premiere Pro to continue video editing. You can even open Premiere Pro projects directly from the media browser in Audition and select specific sequences to modify.

Adobe Audition is a great sound editor and a full-fledged digital audio workstation that both professionals and hobbyists will find useful. With its many different tools and easy integration with other Adobe products it is a great choice for audio editing.
