If your Master Password for LastPass is ever lost or forgotten, there are several account recovery methods to use to restore access to your Vault. If the recovery options below do not allow you to recover your Master Password, you will need to reset your LastPass account (to keep the same username) or create a brand new LastPass account and re-enter all of your data. Click the name of a person, then click Begin Recovery below the person’s name. The person whose account you’re recovering will get an email from 1Password. When they click “Recover my account” in the email, a page will open in their browser. Then they’ll get a new Secret Key and create a new Master. Take action immediately to find your Master Password or rescue your data: Look for a Login item in your Personal vault named “1Password Account”. It may contain your Master Password. Export your data from 1Password while you still have access. You can then create a new account or vault and import. 1Password offers simple, secure password management. Customers can choose either its $35.88 a year, single-user version or its $59.88 Families edition, which covers up to five users.

You can restore access for a family or team member if they forget their Master Password or can’t find their Secret Key.

You can recover an account for someone at any time. Just keep in mind that after they create a new Master Password, they won’t be able to access their account until you complete the recovery.

To begin recovery:

  1. Sign in to your account on 1Password.com.
  2. Click People in the sidebar.
  3. Click the name of a person, then click Begin Recovery below the person’s name.

You’ll see notifications for any pending recoveries when you sign in to 1Password.com. To complete all the recoveries at once:

  1. Click People in the sidebar.
  2. Click the filter to the right of the search field and choose Recovery Pending.
  3. Select the checkboxes next to the accounts you want to recover.
  4. Click Actions and choose Complete Recovery.
