Currently, it will be more difficult to sign up QQ account than ever before. Sometimes, it would happen that when you go into the sign-up page the languish is in Chinese. However, you know nothing about Chinese and you have no choice but to turn off the page. Or the page keeps showing service is busy, when you are trying to create QQ account, it says you have too many attempts. So, I write this article to show you how to sign up QQ account and how to avoid being blocked.
What is QQ?
QQ and WeChat belong to the same company. And these two social media platforms are the most popular platform. Actually, there’s no other instant social media platform in China. I mean instant social media platform. Therefore, the features of the WeChat and QQ are almost the same.
Maybe you’ve tried everything you can to create WeChat account but still not able to. Because creating wechat account need someone to verify you. But there’s no need any verification to register QQ account. So QQ is the best alternative social media in China. As for me, what I like most is transfer file via QQ. If you want to contact someone in China or you’re in China, QQ is what you need. Also, it will keep your WeChat account safer if you link QQ account to WeChat.
Can I create QQ account without my phone number?
The answer is a big NO. Creating qq account required a phone number since 2016. So don’t waste your time on finding a way to sign up qq account without phone number. Moreover, the virtual phone number is unacceptable too.
NOTE: One phone number can only register one QQ account.
Why QQ keeps saying ” The service is busy ” and ” Too many attempts ” ？
When you were told that “the service is busy right now” or “too many attempts”, please try again later. Then you should wait for a little while and try again. Or switch from webpage to phone device to create QQ account. (Vice versa). Don’t worry about the Chinese language, I’ve updated the blog, will show you step by step.
NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TOO MANY TIMES to sign up with your IP and your phone number even you are from China. Or it will say that there are unusually high amounts of sign-ups from your IP address or your phone number. When you have tried more than three times but still failed, I recommend you to clear cache and cookies in your browser and try again later or the next day. Or change the IP you are using to create a QQ account.
If you have created more than one QQ account with your IP then I recommend you changing your IP to sign up another QQ account.
Unable to receive SMS verification code?
If you didn’t receive any verification code, the reasons may be one of them asfollows.
- Country/region you selected is wrong. please confirm that the country/region you selected for your phone number is correct.
- Check whether the phone number you entered is correct. NOTE: there is no need to enter the country code again.
- Make sure your phone is able to receive SMS messages. you can ask your friend to send you a message, check whether your phone is able to receive a message or not. if your phone still can’t receive messages, it could be a poor network connection, your number is roaming/out of credit/out of service, etc. please check it, and try again later.
- Check whether your phone has blocked SMS messages from unknown senders or not. or you have any anti-virus App which may block SMS messages. if so, you can turn off the blocking feature temporarily, and request another SMS verification code again. Alternatively, you can also opt for “Verify via phone call”.
- It could be your phone number issue. Do not use a virtual number to register QQ or WeChat. Sometimes, if your phone number is operated by a virtual network operator then your phone number may be blocked by mistakes.

If your phone still unable to receive verification code, you may use other phone number or mobile phone to register. (If still failed, then it could be the bug of QQ, you should wait until the bug fixed .)

Way one: Sign up QQ account via the webpage.
Basically. register qq account via webpage is the most way for people who don’t understand the Chinese language. You might have tried to create QQ account via phone application (QQ international). However, after entering phone number and click on sign-up button. It shows the webpage not available, might be permanently down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
In this case, you can fix this error by going to the webpage. And this way will show you step by step on how to sign up QQ account via the webpage.

Step1. Go to QQ registration page.
You can enter “QQ sign up” on the google search. Then, the first link of results pages should be the QQ registration link.
Or you can click on the qq registration URL or click here to go to qq registration official webpage.
Step2. Choose the language.
It happens that the qq registration webpage is not in English by default. If you click on the link gave you, that’s why I recommend you google the registration webpage. What if the language is in Chinese? It’s super easy to change the language of the qq by clicking the top right-hand corner[简体中文 or 繁体中文] to choose the language.
Step3. Enter your Nickname and Password.

As for the nickname, you can change it after creating account successfully. And logging to qq account is not by name, is by QQ ID(QQ number), you should aware of that.
When it comes to password, there’re so many people forgot their password. And when they try to login to QQ account, but failed to, and then test password again and again. The result is that your account could be blocked as too many attempts to log in. QQ might think your account is unsafe, hacked. So, please write qq ID down if needed.

The password should be: 1. not contain space. 2. about 8-16 characters. 3. secure enough.
Step4. Select your region/country.
The region or country is not where you live but where your phone number belongs to. If you live in China now but the phone number is registered in the USA. Then you should select the USA region by clicking and scrolling down to find the region.
Step5. And then, select your region and enter your mobile phone number.
The phone number is the only way to get your password back when you forgot. You can find your password, fix account security issues by using phone number.
Step6. Send the SMS verification code.
After entering the phone number, the page will show up request SMS code button. You will get an SMS verification code on your phone, you need to enter it before the countdown timer. If failed to, you can request again. If not get the SMS code message, please check your phone can get message normally and check the reason could be that I listed above.
Step7. Check the box below and click [Sign up now].
The Privacy Policy should be checked by default. If not, you need to check that and then click on [Sign up now] to finish the last process of registration qq account.
If everything goes well, you will get a QQ ID (QQ number). As I said, this is for logging method, not by your name. So please write it down and save your QQ ID somewhere. In case of forgetting it. If you lost your QQ number, it could be a frustrating thing for you. Because some pages of QQ webpage supports in Chinese only.
NOTE: The QQ account will be recycled if you were not to login in three days. So, I recommend you to login immediately.
Finally, the page will show you sign-up successful and you need to save your QQ number to your note in case you forgot it. And you should log in to your QQ account in three days, or your account will be recycled.
Way two: Sign up QQ account via phone device (QQ International Application)
This way is for people who don’t want to create QQ account on desktop(PC webpage). Or failed to sign up QQ account via QQ International Application. And sometimes, you will see the error when you create QQ account on QQ international. So, let’s get started!
Step 1. Download QQ international App to your phone.
You can download QQ international App from google play store or Apple store. And I don’t recommend you to download the App from third party channel. The QQ international icon should be like this. Don’t download the wrong App.
Or you can download the QQ international App from the official website. Select your phone platform and choose the Android or iPhone version.
Step 2. Open QQ international and Click on [Sign up] on the bottom right corner.
If you got a language problem, you need to tap the top-right corner icon and then select the language. Basically, the language might be set in Chinese by default depending on your mobile phone device is a Chinese brand mobile phone or not.
And then, Click on the [Sign up] icon on the bottom right of the screen.
Step 3. Fill in Phone Number.
You need to select your region code. As I said, the region is not where you’re living, is where your phone number registered. After that, you need to enter your phone number.
Step 4. Check the Terms and Privacy and then click on [Next].
The [Next] button will show up after you entered the phone number and check the Termas and Privacy. And then confirm your mobile phone number, you will go to the next step.
Step 5. Enter your SMS verification code.

After the process, you will get QQ number(QQ ID), which means you’ve created QQ account successfully. Please write is down in case of forgetting. And login to your QQ account immediately. The account will be recycled in three days if you didn’t log in.
NOTE: If the process got an error that shows you “Webpage not available”, And pop up a page in Chinese. In this case, you can forward to way one method, or keep reading to continue the process. I will show you the last method. Create QQ account on the Chinese version of QQ.
Way three: Register QQ account on the Chinese version App (step by step).
In this way, you might need to read Chinese characters. I know you have no idea of Chinese at all. But, don’t worry, follow my steps I will show you how. Also, if you’ve tried two ways above but still failed to, you definitely need to use this way.
Step 1: Download the Chinese version of the QQ App(Not international App).
I recommend you download the Chinese version of the QQ App from google play store or App store So that you can download the latest version. If so, Then you can skip this paragraph go to the next steps. Or you can continue the process to download the Chinese version of QQ App when it pops up a Chinese page. You need to tap the blue text botton[去手机QQ注册]. And then scroll down the page to the bottom and then click on the blue text[立即下载]. After finishing downloaded the App, you need to install it on your phone.
Step 2: Open QQ App and then click on[新用户注册] to sign up.
It might pop up Terms of users and Privicy& Policy when you open the App. Just click on [同意] to agree. And then click on[用户注册]
or [新用户注册] (Depends on the App version).

Step 3: Select your region code by Tapping[国家/地区] field.
I don’t recommend you scroll down to find your region. Safemoon. Actually, you can select your region code by searching it at the search bar (On the top of the screen). If they’re more than one region after entering region code. You need to google your region/country to translate into Chinese, as the region country are all listed in Chinese.
And then enter your phone number after selected your region/ country. And click on the blue button text[下一步].
Step 4: Enter the SMS verification code.
QQ will ask for permission to read SMS and MMS records to get verification SMS code. So, please click on[同意]or [Allow]. If you click [deny] or click it by mistake, you need to go to your phone settings to give permission.
The SMS verification code is digital numbers only. it looks like this as the image is shown below.
Step 5: Fill out your profile. Enter your Nickname and password.
Entering your Nickname and password. The password should be: 1. not contain space. 2. about 8-16 characters. 3. secure enough. And then click on the blue text[注册并登陆] or [登录] to login.
Finally, you create QQ account successfully. If you don’t know your QQ ID(QQ number), please check what’s the difference between QQ ID, WeChat ID, and QQ email. So now, you can go back to use qq international on your phone.
If you failed to sign up QQ account, you can try to create a WeChat account.

Inclusion: There’re three ways to create QQ account. (Actually, there’re only three ways). Register QQ account on the webpage, qq international App, and Chinese version of QQ App. If you failed to, in one of them, please use the other one. And Do not try again and again!!! 3.1 If you cannot access your QQ account because you have forgotten your QQ account password, you will promptly log into the QQ Account Re-access System to report the matter[Change to “reset your password” or “report the matter and reset your password”?].
3.2 In using the Account Re-access System, you may be required to provide us with various pieces of information in order to [reset your password/recover you password], and you agree to and will only provide us with complete and accurate information in connection with your use of our services, including the information we request in connection with your use of the QQ Recovery Service.
3.3 We may change the information we require in connection with the QQ Recovery Service from time to time and based on the context of each particular request, and some of the information we request you provide may include:
(1) old passwords: previous passwords used for your QQ account;
(2) identity document number: the User’s identity document number which has been provided as part of the Password-Protected Information in respect of the QQ account. The identity document can be identity card, serviceman’s card and student card, etc. The identity document number provided by you as Password-Protected Information shall be complete, accurate, and provided in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and may generally not be changed once filled in;
(3) password verification question: the account recovery question you selected for your QQ account;
(4) password verification answer: the account recovery answer to your password verification question;

In some cases, we may require additional information in connection with your request, and we reserve the right to require such additional verification information in our discretion. If you are unable or unwilling to provide
the information we request, we will then consider your QQ account re-access request invalid.
3.5 In response to your QQ account re-access request, we will typically provide you with an acknowledgment number associated with your request. Please retain this number as we may request you provide it in connection with future enquiries.
3.6 Normally, result of the account re-access request will be available in 4 hours after the QQ Account Re-access System receives the request, but it may take much longer to process your request depending on the volume of requests received and the nature of your particular request.
3.7 We will communicate with you regarding your account re-access request using the email address provided with your request. Please note that given the nature of email, our communications to you could be delayed or undeliverable due to issues beyond our control, including problems with the configuration or operation of third-party computer networks that make up the Internet as well as problems with your email service. In some cases our emails could be deleted or redirected from your inbox due to anti-junk email policies and systems. You may contact our customer service personnel to enquire about the status of handling of your account re-access request by quoting the request acknowledgment number.
3.8 Tencent may not always grant you re-access to your QQ account in response to your account re-access request. In some cases we may be unable to provide you with re-access to the requested QQ account, even where you have provided additional information upon our request.

3.9 After your account re-access request has been granted, you should remember your password and the Password-Protected Information, and shall carry out virus removal exercise on the computer or device on which you log onto the QQ account.
4.1 You shall ensure that all information you provide to Tencent is complete, accurate, and provided in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Such information will be critical in order to use the QQ Recovery Service and discover a QQ account which has been lost. If, because of his/her providing false information or of other people’s awareness of his/her registration information, the User suffer any losses including but not limited to inability to re-access a QQ account lost, loss of Q coins, game tokens and other value-added products in a QQ account as well as loss of information kept in a QQ account, the losses shall be borne solely by the User.
4.2 You agree, when using the QQ Account Re-access System, to only attempt to access (or re-access) QQ accounts that (a) you have registered or which have been transferred to you, and (b) that you have the right to use. Otherwise, you guarantee that you will not access, attempt to access, or instruct, or induce any third party, directly or indirectly, to access or attempt to access any other QQ account. In order to protect yourself in the event someone fraudulently or otherwise attempts to access your QQ account without your permission, you are responsible for taking all necessary preventative steps including, for example, ensuring the computer(s) or portable device(s) you use to access your QQ account have up-to-date software, including anti-virus and security software, using strong passwords, and keeping your password(s) secret.
4.3 If a QQ account is subject to administrative or judicial enquiry, criminal investigation, legal proceedings, or any material dispute, we may temporarily freeze the QQ account or take other actions it deems to be reasonably necessary in response to such requests. During the period when the QQ account is frozen or otherwise limited, you may not make a request for re-accessing the QQ account and we may reject or delay our response to your request in our sole discretion.
4.4 If a QQ account is frozen or recalled by us because the account has been used in a manner we believe is likely in violation of relevant laws and regulations, ours or a third-party’s rights, provisions of this Agreement or other relevant terms for the provision of our services, you may not make a request for re-accessing your QQ account, and we may reject or delay our response to your request in our sole discretion.

5.1 With a view to enhancing user experience and improving our services, Tencent may revise the functions and rules of the Service at its discretion from time to time without notice to the User. If necessary, the revisions will be publicized on our website.
5.2 We may make changes to this Agreement over time, so please come back and review them. We may from time to time add, change, or remove features from our services, including the QQ Recovery Service, (including in relation to whether a service is free of charge or not), or suspend or terminate a service altogether, and in each case, [to the extent permitted by applicable law], we may do so without any notice obligation or liability to you. Where we consider that any changes to this Agreement or our services are reasonably material, we will (where reasonably practicable) notify you (via our website), direct communications to you, or other means, but we do not guarantee that any notice will be given. By continuing to use our services after we make any amendment to this Agreement or our services, with or without notice from us, you agree to be bound by the amended update to this Agreement.
5.2 If you violate applicable laws, regulations, or our or any third-party’s rights, the provisions of this Agreement or other relevant terms for provision of our services, we may limit or terminate your rights to use the QQ Recovery Service pursuant to this Agreement. Additionally, our services, including the QQ Recovery Service, are provided to you in our sole discretion, and we may add, change, limit, or remove services or features of services that we make available to the public or you specifically in our sole discretion without liability to you, and with or without notice to you.
5.3 You shall be solely responsible for any losses suffered or third party claims or demands raised as a result of, including but not limited to removal of the User’s information, emails, virtual properties and other data after failure of the re-access request.
6.1 This Agreement is signed in Nanshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong, the People’s Republic of China.
6.2 The formation, validity, performance and interpretation of this Agreement and resolution of any disputes arising in connection with this Agreement shall be governed by the law of the People’s Republic of China excluding its rules on conflict of laws.
6.3 Any dispute or controversy arising between you and us shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, you agree that the dispute or controversy shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the competent people’s court of the place where this Agreement is signed.
6.4 The headings of all terms contained in this Agreement are inserted for convenience only and have no substantial meanings. They may not be taken as a basis for the interpretation of this Agreement.
6.5 If any of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining terms shall continue to be valid and binding on both you and Tencent.
